WYRE Forest District Council has provided a reminder to residents about opening times for services and collections over the festive period.

Residents who would normally have their rubbish collected on Tuesday, December 26 will have a collection on Saturday, December 30 instead.

This is the only planned change to bin collections over the festive period.

Wyre Forest District Council crews will take one bag of side waste for these customers only on Saturday, December 30.

The Hub, the council’s customer service centre, will be closed from 5pm on Friday, December 22 and reopen on Tuesday, January 2 2024 at 9am.

Phone lines for commercial and domestic waste services will be open between 9am and 3.30pm on Wednesday, December 27 to Saturday, December 30. 

Phone lines for all other services will be open between 10am and 4pm on Thursday, December 28 2023.

Anyone who is homeless or in an emergency homeless situation while the council is closed can call 01562 547694.

Free festive parking is available from Monday to Friday between 3pm to 6pm in all council owned car parks in the district. This offer runs until Friday, December 29.

Bewdley Museum closes its doors at 4.30pm on Saturday, December 23. The shop and Shambles walkway reopens on Saturday, February 3 2024. The museum will fully reopen on Saturday, March 2 2024.

Worcestershire Regulatory Services’ phone lines will be closed from 5pm Friday, December 22 and will be open again on Thursday, December 28 and Friday, December 29, 9am until 5pm.

Phone lines will also be closed on Monday, January 1 2024.

Household recycling centres in the district, managed by Worcestershire County Council, will be closed for three days: Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. If residents need to visit the tip, they are being reminded to avoid these three days and to not fly-tip by leaving items outside the gates.
