The County Council has called off a road closure that was set to impact residents in Bewdley this weekend.

Worcestershire County Council announced last week that there would be a one-way road closure going into town of Welch Gate over two Sundays for essential building repairs to a property that is adjacent to the road.

Emergency access was set to be maintained at all times.

The first closure happened on Sunday (February 25) from 9.30am until 3.30pm with the next closure planned for this Sunday (March 3) from 9.30am until 3.30pm.

The County Council has now announced that the work was completed last weekend with the second closure no longer required.

In a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, a spokesperson for Worcestershire County Council said: "All works completed last Sunday. Welch Gate one-way closure not required on Sunday, March 3."
