Police have warned residents over bogus roofers that have been operating in Stourport.
The scammers have been offering to do roofing work for an extortionate cost with no upfront contract.
West Mercia Police are now warning residents not to agree to any work being done before a written contract is in place, a price has been agreed on and there is a cooling-off period.
Residents should also avoid paying for the work upfront and to use tradesmen who have been recommended by family or friends where possible and not cold callers.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Please be aware of bogus roofers in the Stourport area offering to do work on your roof for an extortionate cost.
"It is advisable to have workmen that have been recommended by family or friends and not cold callers at the door. If you get that gut feeling something isn't right it probably isn't."
