A MAN in his 30s has suffered 'significant injuries' to his face after being attacked in an underpass.

Police were called to reports of an attempted robbery on Thursday, April 25, at around 11.35pm. 

The attack happened in the underpass on the junction of Witan Gate and Midsummer Boulevard. 

The victim, a man in his 30s, was approached by three Asian males who then attacked the victim in an attempt to take his phone.

The victim suffered significant injuries to the face and required further hospital treatment, but has since been discharged.

Investigating officer PC Deborah King said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to this attempted burglary, or anyone with information which could help our investigation, to please come forward.

“Anyone with information should call us on 101 or make a report on our website quoting reference number 43240191130.
