A RURAL road from Wem to Shrewsbury is closed because of a road traffic collision, police have announced.
Officers from West Mercia Police have said the B5476 south of Wem is closed because of a crash and drivers are being urged to avoid the area.
Using X, the social media site, West Mercia Police made the call for drivers to find a different route while the crash is taken care of by emergency services.

They said: “We are currently dealing with an RTC on the B5476 between SHrewsbury and Wem.
“Please find alternative routes while we deal.”
It is believed that Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service is also at the scene.
According to highways monitoring website Inrix, the accident took place around 4pm and the road is partially blocked.
