A theatre in Kidderminster has warned visitors about travel disruption ahead of its highly-anticipated shows next week.

The Rose Theatre is set to stage Agatha Christie's 'Black Coffee' but has issued a plea to guests to plan ahead of any journeys due to ongoing gas works and multi-way traffic lights near the venue.

The Hercule Poirot classic has sold out and is running from Monday, May 13 to Saturday, May 18, but coincides with roadworks around Sion Hill and Chester Road North.

A spokesperson for the Rose Theatre said: "M. Poirot failed to spot that the opening of Black Coffee coincides with roadworks outside the theatre and in the surrounding roads.

"So, if you have tickets for this sell-out show do leave plenty of time to get here and park safely. Keep an eye out for road work news as schedules do change. At the moment there could be disruption from Monday, May 13 to Friday, May 17."

Three-way lights appeared at the junction of Sion Hill on Tuesday (May 7) and have continued to cause delays for drivers this week.

According to the Worcestershire County Council website, the lights are in place for Cadent Gas to carry out emergency gas repairs and maintenance work.

There is a valid permit in place for the work to be carried out until Wednesday, May 13.

There is also a permit to carry out work on Chester Road North with disruption expected until Thursday, May 16.
