The county council have warned residents that Bewdley Bridge will be closed for a few hours tomorrow to remove flood debris.

Worcestershire County Council said that Bewdley Bridge will be under a full closure on Thursday (May 16) from 6pm for around four hours.

This is to enable workers to remove flood debris from the bridge arches.

The footways will remain open for pedestrians and there will be access to Riverside North from Wribbenhall.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, a spokesperson for Worcestershire County Council said: "Full closure of Bewdley Bridge on Thursday, May 16 from 6pm for 4 hours approx. for the removal of flood debris from bridge arches. Footways remain open. There will be access to Riverside North from Wribbenhall."

There is currently a one-way system in place across Bewdley Bridge due to ongoing work to install permanent flood defences in the town.

The work aims to provide permanent protection to homes and businesses in the area from flooding.
