COUGHTON Court is offering visitors the opportunity to scale to new heights with the Scaffold Viewing Platform this May half term.

It's part of the major £3.3 million Through the Roof: FuturepROOFing Coughton Court project taking place this year.

Visitors now have the chance to put on a hi-vis and hard hat and climb 100 steps to the top of the scaffolding.

Once there, they will be greeted with views of the Coughton Court estate and the surrounding Alcester countryside.

Visitors will have the opportunity to witness specialists working on the tower roof throughout the open season.

Lucy Brant, experience and visitor programming manager at Coughton Court: “We are thrilled to be welcoming this once in a lifetime experience to Coughton Court.

"We want visitors of all ages to be able to learn more about the Through the Roof: FuturepROOFing Coughton Court project.

"This is where the viewing platform will not only allow guests to witness the work taking place in real time but also gather a different perspective of Coughton Court from above.

"This vital work is part of the National Trust’s commitment to conservation. Helping to preserve historic buildings, like Coughton Court, for future generations.”

After scaling the heights of the Viewing Platform visitors can dive deeper into Through the Roof: FuturepROOFing Coughton Court in the all-new exhibition located in the Courtyard. This space shares more about the work taking place to preserve, repair and improve the building’s roof and façade.

The Viewing Platform will be open from 11am on open days between May and August 2024 with normal admission applying to non-members.

All visitors to the Viewing Platform will be subject to health and safety instruction, protective equipment is provided and required to climb the scaffolding.
