A popular discount retailer is set to open its 750th store this week as it prepares to launch its brand-new branch in Kidderminster.

B&M will open the doors to its new shop at Slingfield Mill in Weavers Wharf tomorrow (Thursday, May 30) at 8am.

The store will mark a milestone for the company by being its 750th shop.

The former Debenhams site is set to offer an even bigger selection of bargains from groceries, toiletries and health and beauty to toys, homeware, and DIY.

The discount retailer has described it as "a much bigger and better site" which is only a stone's throw away from the original store at 1-6 St George's Mall.

The store manager at B&M Kidderminster said: "We wanted a bigger and better store for our customers giving them even more big branded products.

"We hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store. We're really excited to get the doors open very soon."

The new store, which has more than 24,507 sq ft of sales space, has relocated from the Swan Centre.

The old store closed on Saturday, May 25 and saw huge queues in the final couple of days as people rushed to get a bargain.

To celebrate the opening of the new store, the colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think deserves VIP treatment for the work they do in the community.

The team nominated Kidderminster Foodbank which will take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.

Kidderminster Foodbank is a Trussell Trust foodbank which provides a crucial lifeline to those suffering from crisis in the area.

The charity does not believe anyone should have to face going hungry and provides emergency food and support to those who need it.

In addition to opening the new store, the team will also receive £500 worth of B&M vouchers to go towards the charity.
