A man has been released on bail after armed officers swarmed a street in Kidderminster last week. 

West Mercia Police said they received a call at around 10.45am on Friday, May 24 from a man using threatening behaviour. 

Armed officers attended a property on Claughton Street and a man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill. 

Residents had previously taken to social media after police blocked off nearby Greatfield Road with many spotting the armed officers in the area. 

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We received a call at around 10.45am (May 24) from a man using threatening behaviour.

"Officers attended a property on Claughton Street in Kidderminster and gained entry.

"A man, in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill."

In an update today (Wednesday, May 29), a spokesperson for West Mercia Police confirmed that the man has been released on police bail and the investigation is ongoing.
