A PLAN seeking to transform a historic building previously home to a Frankie and Benny's restaurant has been approved.
The former Italian-American-themed eatery, at the Pump House at Weaver's Wharf in Kidderminster, permanently closed in 2020 after owners deemed the branch to be "not financially viable".
Planning applications were submitted to Wyre Forest District Council seeking permission to divide the building into two new units for a tanning salon and a new restaurant/ takeaway.
A listed building consent application to subdivide the site has now been given the thumbs up by the local authority.
The plans were put forward by LCP Retail Limited. The national commercial property and investment company, part of M Core, purchased Weaver's Wharf last year. The new investors said they want to attract good-quality brands to the retail park and boost jobs.
The businesses moving into the Pump House have yet to be confirmed.
