A POPULAR padding pool in Stourport is now back open after being forced to close earlier this week for health and safety reasons.

Stourport Town Council said the Riverside Paddling Pool had to be closed on Tuesday (August 13) due to cleaning following a health and safety incident.

The town council has urged the community to help them keep the pool clean and to dispose of nappies in the bins provided.

In a post, a spokesperson for Stourport Town Council said: "Unfortunately, we have had to close the Riverside Paddling Pool this afternoon for cleaning due to health and safety reasons.

"Please help us keep the pool clean and safe and open by following the safety tips and advice.

"Please make sure all nappies are disposed of in the bins provided."

Now, the council has confirmed that following a deep clean, they are "happy to report that the Riverside Paddling Pool has reopened today (Thursday, August 15)".

The pool had only just reopened last week following vandalism.
