BEWDLEY Festival has teamed up with award-winning local artist Sarah Stokes to launch a brand new art competition.

People have the opportunity to see their artwork hanging in the Bewdley Museum during the annual festival and win one of a number of prizes.

On Saturday, October 26, hobbyists and established artists will have the chance to take part in Paint the Day Wyre Forest.

People are invited to paint Wyre Forest scenery, wildlife, historic architecture and daily life in the district. This event is open to adults and children alike.

People can make their way to St. George’s Hall, Load Street, Bewdley on October 26, between 8.30 to 9.30am, and complete your registration form with a member of the Bewdley Festival team.

The cost of registration will be £10 per adult and free for under 16s. Work can be put up for sale, but participants will need to price their work.

All media will be accepted, from watercolour to oil, from collage to digital, from photographic to mixed media, from acrylic to graphite.

All artworks will need to be framed and returned back to St. George’s Hall by 4pm on the same day ready to be hung on October 27 at Bewdley Museum.

An exhibition will take place from Monday, October 28 until Saturday November 2.

Even if you don’t want to create, you can pop along to the museum during the week-long show and vote for your favourite artwork.

On Saturday, November 2 there will be a prize-giving and award ceremony at 3pm for the best in show.

Prizes include £50 for the top-voted work and painting sets been donated by Winsor and Newton.
