THE Leader of Wyre Forest District Council has announced that he has appointed councillor Chris Rogers to the cabinet.
Councillor Chris Rogers will serve as cabinet member for housing, health and wellbeing in succession to councillor Ian Hardiman, who is stepping down from the cabinet.
Councillor Marcus Hart, leader of the Council, said: “I am delighted that councillor Chris Rogers is rejoining the Cabinet, having previously served as cabinet member.
He was cabinet member for housing, health and wellbeing from February 2017 to July 2018 and cabinet member for economic regeneration and planning from August 2018 – May 2019.
He is a very experienced member of the Council, having also served twice as chairman and as chairman of Worcestershire County Council. I am looking forward to his contribution to the work of the cabinet.
“I would also like to pay tribute to councillor Ian Hardiman for his loyal and diligent service as a member of the cabinet. He served in a variety of roles from 2012 - 2014 and from 2015 - 2019 and again since 2023. For five years he served as deputy leader of the council.
"I shall remain grateful to him for his dedication and support.”
