A play about the Yorkshire Ripper investigation is coming to a Kidderminster stage.

The Nonentities will perform The Incident Room at the Rose Theatre, focusing on the investigation led by George Oldfield.

The play highlights the role of Sergeant Megan Winterborn, a key figure in the investigation, who was overlooked by male detectives.

The stage will be filled with filing cabinets, boxes, and paper evidence, reflecting the pre-computer era.

Anne Booth, publicity manager and in charge of props for the play, said: "I was a student in Leeds and living in Headingley at the same time as Sutcliffe’s last victim was killed there.

"The tapes of ‘Geordie Jack’ were played constantly.

"This play is bringing back some memories.

"It’s a wonderful piece of theatre and sensitively handled."

The play opens at the venue on Monday, February 24, and will run until Saturday, March 1.

Tickets can be purchased from the box office or the theatre's website.
