THE owners of a miracle cat who was dumped in a bin store in Kidderminster are encouraging people to consider adopting elderly pets.
Martyn and Samantha Jennings-Temple adopted Asher, who was thought to be around 15, when he was put out with the rubbish in Kidderminster.
Asher was emaciated and near death when he was saved by Wyre Forest District Council bin men who initially thought he was a fur hat.
He was then taken on by volunteers at Stourbridge and District RSPCA who paid for his medical care and found him his wonderful new home with Martyn and Samantha.
The friendly moggie went on to have an amazing two years with Martyn and Samantha, before his death at the start of December at around 17.

Now the couple want to send a message to people to consider older pets who have so much love to give.
They are encouraging potential pet owners not to overlook older moggies because of their age as many rescues have lots of elderly pets desperately seeking homes.
Martyn, aged, 47, said: "Everyone wants a kitten, but we would really encourage people to adopt an older pet.
"The rescues are really struggling at the moment and have so many older cats who are in desperate need of homes.
"You can make such a difference for an older pet and make their final years the best they could have.
"Asher was a beautiful boy and loved us right from day one.
"He was so loving and despite everything he went through he had a wonderful personality and just loved everyone he met."
More mature moggies tend to get up to less mischief than kittens or young cats and in most cases older animals have already been socialised within a home environment and may adapt to your routine more quickly.
