A TOWN group’s chairman will deliver its next talk in February on a past Bishop of Worcester.
Sally Dickson will present ‘Itchington, Family and Danes: The influences on the young St Wulfstan (c1008-1095)’ for Kidderminster Historical Society on Thursday, February 12.
St Wulfstan was born at Itchington, Warwickshire, during a turbulent period of Danish raiding and weak Anglo-Saxon kingship.

More: 'The sooner it is outlawed the better'
This talk looks at how the previous history of the Itchington area, his family’s experiences, the powerful preaching of his uncle and the Danish presence in the community all affected the future Worcester bishop during his formative years.
Historian Sally is the current society chairman who graduated with a PhD from the University of Birmingham in 2000.
She taught a history of science course for the Open University and has done various research projects.
Sally gives talks to societies on historical subjects ranging in date from Anglo-Saxon to 20th century.
This talk arises from her research on the people recorded in the Worcestershire pages of the Domesday Book, compiled in 1086, which she intends to eventually publish as a book.
Society meetings start at 2.30pm in The Old Museum of Carpet Building, Stour Vale Mill, Green Street, Kidderminster.
There is a small charge for visitors who are most welcome and asked to book to ensure a seat.
