Affordable family fun awaits at Wyre Forest this half term.
Forestry England is inviting families to make the most of nature on a budget, with a selection of low-cost and free activities throughout the May half term.
Located near Kidderminster, Wyre Forest is part of the 1,500 woods and forests managed by Forestry England, which recorded more than 313 million visits in 2024.
A spokesman for Forestry England said: "From magical woodland trails to thrilling outdoor activities, the nation’s beautiful forests offer endless possibilities for creating special memories – many completely free of charge."
One highlight is the Room on the Broom family adventure trail, which costs £4 per trail pack.
Children can help Witch find her lost hat, bow and wand, and collect ingredients to complete a spell.
Other low-cost activities include the Forest Activity Bag, available for hire at £5.
It contains up to four hours of hands-on activities designed to help families explore wildlife and woodland treasures at their own pace.
There are also plenty of free options.
A variety of walking trails are available for all ages and abilities, including pushchair-friendly routes and the more challenging Giants Trail, which leads through the Valley of the Giants and past towering Douglas Firs.
Gruffalo orienteering is priced at £1.50 per leaflet and includes a map and certificate.
Families can search for 12 hidden Gruffalo markers while building confidence in basic navigation.
A wildlife-spotting adventure is also available at no cost.
Families are encouraged to download Forestry England’s free wildlife spotter sheet and look out for woodland creatures, from minibeasts to roe deer.

Parking charges apply to all activities.
However, Forestry England members can park for free.
Forestry England is currently working to improve climate resilience in its forests, as well as increase visitor diversity and volunteer hours, and further expand woodland areas by 2026.
