THE war in Iran has highlighted again why we need energy security.
We use large quantities of gas shipped from Qatar which has now been stopped due to the bombing.
The USA will not be affected because they use their own resources.
As Donald Trump has pointed out, we have huge reserves of oil and gas in the North Sea.
But we have Ed Miliband (secretary of state for energy security and net zero) who has no common sense and no concern about the financial impact on the general public in this country.
And we have Keir Starmer who is the weakest Prime Minister we have ever had and is only interested in protecting his own position hence why he stopped Andy Burnham from standing in the local election.
We are going to need to use gas for decades and it is about time we opened up more gas fields in the North Sea and became self-sufficient.
Why not open up oil fields and sell it to other countries?
Norway exploits the North Sea and benefits its population so why not us?
