I REFER to the work being carried out currently by Severn Trent in Stourport for the new medical centre and wonder why this was not done prior to it being constructed?
I’m led to believe the work is being done partly to alleviate the flooding problems in the centre car park and also to help deal with the increased sewage flow and water coming from all the new developments in the Areley Kings area.
I’m hearing the plan is to eventually send all water and sewage from holding tanks through the already-struggling sewage pipework that runs under the river bridge.

I sincerely hope the holding tanks will cope with the material coming into it and the pipework can cope with the increased material flow.
I’m assuming Severn Trent has done all the necessary calculations and carried out the surveys needed prior to work starting on this.
Lastly and referring to my opening paragraph, I wonder why this work was not carried out prior to the medical centre being built, knowing the history of the area being subject to flooding and knowing of the proposed plans for the massive amount of new houses in the Areley Kings and The Snipes areas (and beyond?).
This in some way would have helped to minimise disruption for The Old Beams public house.
I now believe the work will continue until August (their busy time).
