The final play of the season is fast-approaching at a theatre in Kidderminster.
The Nonentities have chosen to end their season with another great comedy, following the sell out success of PORRIDGE last year.
This offering, FOR TONS OF MONEY, is a classic Aldwych farce from Evans and Valentine which has been revised by the master playwright Alan Ayckbourn.
It is the story of an unsuccessful inventor who inherits the life interest in a fortune which is to revert on his death to his cousin George Maitland.
As Cousin George is thought to have died abroad, the inventor has the brilliant idea of "dying" so that he can resurrect himself as his cousin and avoid paying his enormous debts.
Complications arise in the form of George's wife, another Maitland imposter (the butler's brother) and finally the real George Maitland himself.
Hilarity ensues and if the audience cannot follow the intricate plot – no matter – it won’t spoil the enjoyment of the night.
Director Sue Downing said: "This has been a great play to work on with a very enthusiastic cast and crew who are getting to grips with explosions, mistaken identities and remembering which door to exit.
"We have all enjoyed rehearsals – even in the middle of the mini heat-wave- and we hope the audience will enjoy it too."
The play opens on Monday (June 15) and runs until Saturday (June 20).
