A road in Bewdley has been closed due to the 'likelihood of danger' caused by a burst water main.

Yew Tree Lane in Bewdley has been closed due to a burst water main, Bewdley Town Council has confirmed.

According to the council, the closure of the road, between its junction with The Lakes Road and its junction with Cleobury Road, came into effect yesterday (Wednesday, July 7).

The closure has been put in place due to the 'likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road' caused by the burst water main.

The notice of the closure of Yew Tree Lane will continue in force for a maximum of 21 days; however, the council say that the road is expected to be closed until Friday (July 10).

A Severn Trent Water spokesperson said: "Our teams have been helping to fix a private leak on Yew Tree Lane in Bewdley, the leak has now been repaired and we expect the road to reopen soon."
