A VETERINARY practice in Hartlebury has been recognised for its approach to reducing stress in animals after achieving a national accreditation.
Pawsitive Vet Care, based on Hartlebury Trading Estate, has become a Fear Free® Certified Practice, placing it among a small number of UK clinics to receive the award.
The certification recognises practices that embed techniques to minimise fear, anxiety and stress in animals throughout their care, from the clinical environment, to handling and communication with owners.
The practice was praised during assessment for its approach, which included tailored pet environments and involving owners in care.
Helen Perryman-Smith, veterinary surgeon and director, said: "When we opened Pawsitive Vet Care, we wanted to create a practice where pets feel safe, understood and respected.
"We know that reducing fear and anxiety doesn't just make a visit more pleasant—it allows us to provide better veterinary care because patients are calmer, owners are more relaxed and everyone has a more positive experience."
All staff at the practice were already individually certified, but the new award confirms the approach is applied across the whole service.
Pawsitive Vet Care provides treatment for dogs, cats and small animals, with services including surgery, diagnostics and preventative care.
