DRIVERS in Wyre Forest face a series of road closures and utility works through August as Worcestershire County Council rolls out resurfacing, gas, electricity, and telecoms projects across Kidderminster, Stourport, Hartlebury, and surrounding villages.

From July 30, Trimpley Drive in Kidderminster will be closed from Habberley Road for around 270 metres for National Grid electricity works.

The closure is expected to last 23 days, running 24 hours a day, with traffic using unaffected parts of Trimpley Drive to divert around the works.

A longer-running project starts August 16 on Hoo Road and Worcester Road in Kidderminster.

Hoo Road will be shut between Chester Road South and St Cecilia Close from August 17 to 21, while the central reservation of A442 Worcester Road will be closed from August 16 to September 26, to allow an electricity company to lay new ducting.

Signed diversions will route traffic via Comberton Road, Comberton Hill, and the Ringway.

Several shorter closures follow later in the month.

A448 Bromsgrove Road in Kidderminster is due to close for two nights between August 17 and August 23, from 7pm to 6am, for carriageway patching.

Blakeshall Lane in Wolverley will then shut for three days from August 18 for Severn Trent Water utility work, with traffic diverted via Gipsy Lane, Kinver Road, Caunsall Road, and the A449.

Heightington Road at Heightington is scheduled for five days of maintenance from August 17, between Jennings Wood Lane and Park End, with diversions signed via Red Hill, Ribbesford Road, and Dunley.

Finally, Greenway near Kidderminster will close for one day from August 20 for Openreach telecoms repairs, affecting a 1.75-kilometre stretch east of Porchbrook Road.

Access to frontages should be maintained where no other route exists, but motorists are being advised to follow roadside signs, allow extra time, and check county council updates in case dates shift if works overrun.
