ASPIRING actors and backstage helpers in Wolverley are being invited to join the village’s amateur dramatics group as it launches its latest show.

Wolverley Village Players will unveil their new pantomime‑style production, Hansel and Gretel and the Sugar Free Fairy, at a launch night on Monday, September 7 at 7pm at Wolverley Memorial Hall, Shatterford Lane.

The original script has been written by members of the group and the evening will introduce the story and outline the many ways people can get involved, from acting, singing and dancing to set building, costumes and technical support.

No previous experience is needed.

Founded in 2013, the group rehearses from September and performs to sold‑out audiences at the end of January.

Organisers say they are keen to welcome new members of all ages and encourage anyone curious about community theatre to come along, meet the existing cast and crew and find out more. Further details are available at the Wolverley Village Players website.
