An afternoon of tea, great company and delicious treats brought joy to clients at a special day care centre.
Friends of the Elderly’s Kidderminster Day Care Service, which supports people living with dementia and age-related conditions, hosted a surprise afternoon tea party during Afternoon Tea Week.
Jeanette Samuels, day care manager at Kidderminster Day Care, said: "There's nothing quite as lovely as a traditional afternoon tea.
"It’s a ‘tea-riffic’ tradition that we know the clients thoroughly enjoy as it combines all their favourite things – delicious, tasty treats, a good cup of tea and the opportunity to have a good catch-up and natter with the care team and each other."

To add an extra touch of fun to the day, the team hosted a "Tea-riffic Tea Poll," asking clients light-hearted questions about their tea preferences and afternoon tea favourites.
The poll revealed that English Breakfast Tea was the unanimous favourite brew, with all clients preferring tea bags over loose leaf.
Shirley Bradley, head of day care at Friends of the Elderly, said: "The clients always surprise me with their trivia knowledge, and the Afternoon Tea Week party was no exception.
"One client told the group that tea is actually the second most widely consumed drink in the world after water and that you should never, absolutely never, squeeze a tea bag because it forces excess tannic acid out of the wet leaves."
The conversation also turned to the long-standing debate of cream or jam first on a scone.
Ms Samuels said: "We had quite a chat over The Devon vs. Cornwall ways.
"After chatting it through, the clients were torn with 75 per cent saying they preferred to put the jam on first, so that the cream had a nice, tasty place to sit and not slide off on to the plate – but they all agreed it had to be a fruit scone with strawberry jam, not raspberry, apricot or any other flavour.
“Just like Shirley, the clients never cease to amaze me, I’m always learning something new."
She added: “The clients had a wonderful time enjoying the Afternoon Tea Week party. They all agreed that everything was delicious and said that it was a ‘brew-tiful’ way to spend the afternoon."
