THERE are several road closures in Kidderminster and Stourport-on-Severn later this month for utility work, highway repairs and tree maintenance.

The closures, announced by Worcestershire County Council, will affect several routes in and around Kidderminster, as well as Lickhill Road in Stourport.

The notices can be viewed on the Public Notice Portal via: publicnoticeportal.uk

Drake Crescent in Kidderminster is scheduled to close for two days from Monday, September 21.

The closure will cover the section between Canterbury Road and St Albans Avenue while Severn Trent Water carries out utility work.

Drivers will be diverted via Canterbury Road and St Pauls Avenue.

Also starting on September 21, Lickhill Road in Stourport-on-Severn will be closed for one day for tree maintenance by Worcestershire County Council.

The affected stretch runs between Lombard Street and Moorhall Lane.

A southbound diversion will use High Street, Lion Hill, York Street, New Street and Moorhall Lane, while northbound traffic will be directed via Park Avenue, Bewdley Road and Lombard Street.

Franchise Street in Kidderminster will then close for two days from Wednesday, September 23, between Talbot Street and Holman Street, for utility work by Severn Trent Water.

The diversion route will be via Holman Street, Sutton Road and Talbot Street.

The most significant closure will affect the A449 Chester Road South, the Spennels Valley roundabout and part of Spennels Valley Road.

It is expected to take place for two overnight closures, between 8pm and 6am, at some point between September 24 and October 7.

The works involve carriageway patching and associated civil engineering work ahead of surface dressing.

Diversions will be in place via Worcester Road, The Ringway, Comberton Hill and Comberton Road, depending on which phase of the closure is under way.

Residents and businesses will still be allowed access to properties where there is no other route available.
