A KIDDERMINSTER primary school has raised more than £300 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital after bringing families together for a fundraising event.
Comberton Primary School held a coffee morning and afternoon on Friday, September 25, with families invited to enjoy tea and cakes while supporting the hospital.
The event raised £315 and was organised by school office staff Caroline Broadbent and Shelby Knowles alongside Birmingham Children’s Hospital ambassador and teaching staff member Fiona Edwards.
Deputy headteacher Jenny Phillips said: “It was wonderful to see our school community coming together for Birmingham Children’s Hospital, an incredibly worthy cause very close to the hearts of many of our families and staff.
“We are grateful to everyone who baked or brought in cakes for the event and were proud to provide the children with an opportunity to develop their knowledge of the amazing work BCH does."
One parent said: "It was a lovely event hosted by the school, I had a chance to sit with my child and enjoy a calm morning with a cup of tea and cake whilst raising money for an amazing cause."
