RESIDENTS have reacted after a major variety and garden centre retailer's store in Kidderminster was called 'embarrassing' by a concerned customer.
In a statement sent to the Kidderminster Shuttle, The Range said it was 'aware' of the comments regarding its store at Crossley Retail Park and has said that it is 'sorry' that the customer's experience did not meet the standards the retailer expects.
In a widely shared social media post, a customer said that the state of The Range in Kidderminster was 'shameful' and that the store was 'embarrassing' to the chain.
The customer also accused the major retailer of failing to invest in its staff and of showing a 'lack of respect' to its customers.

After the Shuttle reported on the customer's concerns and the widely shared social media posts, Kidderminster residents have had their say with some defending the store and others agreeing that improvements are needed.
Abigail Coppleston-Eastmond said: "Please don't be horrible to any of the staff.
"Just some food for thought - they will probably have the amount of work three people should share, but all retail now expects unrealistic workloads, which comes down from the higher-ups in the company who have probably never set foot on a shop floor or worked a day of retail in their life.
"Admittedly, it looks messy, but really, is this the most important issue in the world currently?"
Sarah Howell said: "I have to agree that this store in some places has been untidy many times when I've gone in there.
"There's a trolley with cardboard and stuff in them, and sometimes you can't get down an aisle."
June Mack said: "I love the store and the staff, never had an issue."
Paula Evans said: "Great shop but nothing is priced so you have to get a trolley, put what you may want in it, get it price checked at the till and leave what you don't want.
"The shop is always like this as there's not enough staff to cope; it's not fair on them."
A spokesperson for The Range said: “We’re aware of the comments regarding our Kidderminster store and are sorry to hear that this customer’s experience did not meet the standards we expect.
“We take customer feedback seriously.
“September to December is one of our busiest periods, as our teams prepare for our autumn, Halloween, Black Friday and extensive Christmas collections.
“Given the scale of our Christmas range, merchandising takes several weeks, with teams working hard to transform stores and bring customers the seasonal collections they know and love.
“We’ve welcomed additional seasonal colleagues to support our teams during this busy period.
“With Christmas imminent, shelves are being continually replenished, and our teams are working hard to maintain the high standards and great choice our customers expect.
“We thank customers for their patience and understanding during this seasonal transition.”
