A popular farm shop that has been part of the Stourport community for over 50 years has said that it is 'incredibly proud' after it was awarded a new five-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Bells Farm Shop, which is located on Chadwick Bank, was awarded the new hygiene rating by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) on Wednesday (October 28).

Vicki Colwill is the owner of the farm shop, which includes a café, butchery, and deli, and says that she is 'incredibly proud' of the achievement.

Vicki was also keen to celebrate the 'dedication' of the Bells Farm Shop team, who in her words, have worked 'incredibly hard' to maintain the business's standards.

"We are incredibly proud to have achieved a five-star food hygiene rating across our Café, Butchery and Deli," Vicki said.

"We firmly believe that maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene should always be an expectation, rather than something to celebrate in itself.

However, this recognition is a wonderful reflection of the hard work, commitment and care that goes on behind the scenes every single day.

"At Bells Farm Shop, our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we are fortunate to have such a dedicated team across every part of the business.

"Whilst the five-star rating recognises our Café, Butchery and Deli, it is important to us that we acknowledge everyone who contributes to making Bells Farm Shop what it is.

"From our kitchen and front-of-house teams, butchers and deli staff, to our farm shop colleagues looking after our customers and our wonderful cheese counter, every department plays its part.

"We also have Matteo and his team, who work incredibly hard caring for our fields and growing areas to make our Pick Your Own experience so special.

"We certainly wouldn’t want any of them to feel left out when we celebrate this achievement."

After being awarded the new food hygiene rating, Vicki also thanked the shop's 'loyal' customers for their continued support.

She said: "We would like to thank our loyal customers for continuing to support our family business and the many local suppliers and producers we work with.
