FAIRIES, shimmering Northern Lights and a hidden Christmas wonderland are coming to Warwick Castle as part of its Festive Light Trail.

The castle is introducing a new attraction called The Fairy Hollow, which will open on November 21, as part of its Christmas celebrations.

Visitors will step through a secret doorway into a snowy hideaway, where Northern Lights will be projected across the walls and illuminated trees will line the route.

The experience will also feature glowing fairy houses, twinkling lights and a self-playing piano performing Christmas music.

This year's trail has a new theme, Follow the Glow, Find the Fairies, with seven fairy characters hidden throughout the castle's 64-acre grounds.

Families will be able to search for the characters, including Mossy Mo, a woodland fairy, Prism, who brings colour to the gardens, and Sunny, the Joy fairy.

The trail will run until January 3, featuring new lighting installations, music and displays throughout the grounds.

A sensory-friendly evening will take place on December 7, offering visitors a quieter experience.

On December 16, Digbeth Dining Club will take over the Christmas Village, bringing street food traders to the castle.

A dog-friendly evening is also planned for January 1, allowing visitors to bring their pets along the trail.

Other Christmas activities include an open-air ice rink, a Christmas market and opportunities to meet Santa, Mrs Claus and their cheerful elves in Stories with Santa inside the castle's historic staterooms.

A pantomime featuring Guy of Warwick and Princess Felice will take place at the Woodland Theatre.

Families can also book Santa Sleepovers, which include overnight accommodation and a visit from Santa's elves.

An accessible version of Stories with Santa will also be available.

Tickets for the festive activities are now on sale.

Further information and bookings are available through the Warwick Castle website.
