A 'nuisance' e-bike ridden by a balaclava-clad man that sped 'dangerously' past a police car in Kidderminster has been seized.

According to West Mercia Police, the e-bike was seized on November 4 after it sped past a marked police car in the Horsefair.

PC Russ Bunce and PCSO Niall Ryland saw the rider of the E Ride Pro e-bike go past them doing a wheelie and 'travelling at speed', with the rider not wearing a helmet.

Police say the rider, a man in his 20s, was wearing a balaclava, but officers were able to track the bike down near a property, where they stopped nearby.

The officer attended on foot, and the bike was seized, with the rider being given a Traffic Offence Report (TOR) for careless driving and driving without insurance or an appropriate license.

PC Bunce said: “We are pleased to have tracked down and seized this nuisance e-bike after seeing it being ridden carelessly in public.

“We know these types of e-bikes are not just a nuisance and illegal to use on the highway, but they can also be linked to other offending.

“The rider was reported for careless driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence and will be dealt with in due course.”
