An e-bike was seized after a teenager was seen riding it at speed through a crowd of people.

The incident took place in Kidderminster on Thursday (November 5), during market day - one of the busiest days of the week.

The boy was wearing a balaclava and riding an illegal electric bike through the crowd when police stopped and detained him.

PC Jack Roberts from the Kidderminster Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "Sadly, it seems the individual involved has not heeded previous warnings and seizures of e-bikes from him.

"We will now consider prosecuting his parents for traffic offences of use, cause, or permit.

"Please take this as a reminder that electric bikes are not toys and the rules do apply to them."

The e-bike was seized and will now be crushed.
