By Emma Bendall (Year 6)
I have been in the school choir at Franche Community Primary School for four years. We have sung in many and varied places, but one regular fixture is the yearly Youth Makes Music festival at Kidderminster Town Hall.
This year my school choir sang traditional Irish songs, including ‘Cockles & Mussels’, ‘All Around My Hat’ and ‘The Wild Rover’. The keyboard players performed ‘Danny Boy’ and some other pupils performed Irish dancing.
We were all dressed in green neckties, white shirts, ankle socks and school shoes so we looked like Irish dancers.
There were other schools beside us. These were: St Wulstan’s RC Primary School, Lickhill Primary School, St Ambrose Catholic Primary School and Hagley RC High School.
They were all very good but Hagley was something to aspire to with their very entertaining rendition of ‘Vive L’amour’.
