SWIMMER Todd Cooper begins his quest for Olympic glory in earnest today.
The Kidderminster star will be competing in the sixth qualifying heat of the men's 100 metre butterfly at the aquatics centre in Beijing.
The 25-year-old will be taking on fellow Great Britain team member Michael Rock for a place in the semi-finals, which are scheduled for tomorrow.
Cooper's qualifying race is scheduled for 12.54pm this afternoon.
