IT'S ONE of those strange things - whenever I seem to go a little while without writing an update in the blog, good things start to happen over at Aggborough.

I always try and get to the computer to add an update of my musings as much as possible but sometimes it just doesn't work out that way.

But, going on recent results and form, Yatesey and Neil Howarth may well want me to keep blog entries at a premium... I last wrote to you prior to the home league game with Oxford United and we've done nothing but win since then.

Against United, I never really thought we looked in trouble. I well and truly swallowed the lines fed by Oxford and the press that our former player, James Constable would be out of the game due to injury, and whilst I'll always be grateful for the memories James gave me and most Harriers fans - especially at Wembley - I have to admit to being less than too pleased to see him in the starting line-up! Big, big credit has to go to our defenders, though, because they kept him well under control and I'd be surprised if he got as many as two shots away before eventually being subbed off at half-time. Just on the subject of the Oxford game, I just want to add that the goal created by Justin and Matthew that was finished by the latter was the best I've seen at any level of football for a good time.

After that I went all the way down to Weymouth. Unfortunately, I was not one of those able to secure an overnight stay so for me it was the long haul down south on Saturday morning. For most of the afternoon I was cursing myself for not only bothering to get out of bed, but for also getting so excited about our previous results. I must admit to well and truly eating my words on the way home, but let's be honest, it really wasn't very pretty!

BUT - with that said, we did dig in and we did get the three points, even though I thought I was going to keel over behind that goal at one point when the Weymouth pressure kept mounting!

After that it was back upto Aggy on Tuesday night in time for the game against York and a chance to see Simon Russell back on the Kiddy turf. I missed the first part of the first-half, but from what I've heard I didn't have too much to catch up on. But in the second half, we looked really good.

York are a big club at this level and we made them look pretty average indeed. Their striker Onome Sodje is probably one of very few players at this level that I wish could wear Harriers' colours come the weekend, but even he couldn't manage to bring them any joy and once again the boys have to take the credit for that. Two excellent goals, and three more impressive points.

So, this weekend we go on another trip down to the seaside as we take on Eastbourne. I hope the wins over Weymouth and Altrincham have proved that we can now hang with the smaller teams in this league but another away victory tomorrow would certainly convince any lingering doubters that we have what it takes to at least do something this season.

See you there,

Tim
