Is this the season we see kidderminster harriers back in the football league ?

Its been a great start for Mark Yates but can the club push on and get promoted ?

I just hope that when the transfer window reopens in january the club can keep hold of the squad and rather than sell players be able to add players to improve and keep going.

For a supporter of any football club its a blow to see your better players being sold off to keep the club going but when funds are tight it has to be for the good of the club.

I just wish someone could come into the harriers and put some money in and push the club on,you only have to look at what Doncaster have done in recent years to see it can be done.

The club have always struggled for support and one of the problems for me is being so close to bigger clubs such as Villa,Birmingham,West Brom and Wolves and yes fans do turn out for the "bigger" games but the club needs consistancy but being so close to these clubs they are always going to struggle to get it.

For me i would like to see the club do something to attract more support for example some football league clubs do a "kids for a quid" on selected games and with the club having such a good start now is the time to get the fans in and get right behind the team.

Ive had many a good time up at aggborough and it would be nice for people to share some of the good times so im hoping you can leave comments of games you can remember.

I was sitting here last night thinking about games and was amazed at how many big games i have seen the harriers play in,for me winning the fa trophy in 1987 was amazing and although i still get stick about it being the biggest game of that season at the hawthorns it was a night i will never forget.

For a club like the Harriers getting to wembley four times is something to be very proud of and although they have never won there every day was an enjoyable one (even though i backed them at 40/1 to win it in 2007 and ive still not got over it) Other games that spring to mind are two welsh cup finals,a semi final at the dell (southampton),the amazing fa cup run in 1994 when the club lost to West Ham in the 5th round after beating the likes of Preston and Birmingham City along the way, great memories, great times and i hope you can share other games with me on here that ive not mentioned.

What about past players at the club ?

the obvious ones for me are Kim Casey and "ocker" Davies who formed such a lethal strike partnership in the 80`s.

i remember Casey getting 73 goals in 68 games in the 85/86 season and davies scoring over 300 goals for the club, lets not forget other players who went on to play league football such as Lee Hughes,Steve Lilwall and Marcus Bignott and a big favourite of mine was a player called Archie Richards who never ducked out a any challenge im sure any player who suffered at the hands of Richards will tell you it was being hit like a train when he tackled you.

So many memories i could go on and on but i would like to hear from Harriers fans with memories of games and players they can remember.

Lets hope this is the season the club can bring back the good times to aggborough.
