The Health Protection Agency has confirmed a further case of swine flu in a teenager in Worcestershire.
A statement by Worcestershire Primary Care Trust said: “The teenager is a sibling of the three children who were confirmed last week as having contracted swine flu following a visit to the United States.
“All were treated on return as soon as symptoms developed and are recovering well at home.
“The teenager has not attended school or nursery while unwell and there is therefore no risk to other children.”
A total of 137 cases of swine flu have now been confirmed in the UK. The majority of them are associated with travel to Mexico or America. There has been some limited human to human transmission.
Five cases of swine flu have been confirmed in Worcestershire and a small number of additional cases are currently being investigated and treated as a precaution.
