SCHOOLCHILDREN took part in a mock christening as part of their studies.
The pupils of Wilden All Saints CE Primary School used a doll as the baby for the ceremony, which was conducted by Rev Eva McIntyre at Wilden Church.
The children got dressed up to play the parts of the parents and relatives and the year one and two pupils celebrated with a party after the ceremony.
Sue Darby, year two teacher, said: “The children had a lovely time. It was part of the RE curriculum on festivals. They had a lovely party afterwards.
“They got to know all about christenings and how it works. They learned a lot from it.”
She added: They chose a name for the baby. They also learned about the church and about enjoying the church.”
