BEWDLEY has a new Community Support Officer on the beat.

Nicholla Fice, of Wolverley, has joined the Local Policing Team for the town.

She has completed seven weeks initial training at West Mercia Police’s headquarters at Hindlip and replaces CSO Hollie Tipper, who recently left the team at Bewdley.

Miss Fice formerly worked as an administrative assistant for Wyre Forest Community Housing and before that as a complaints manager for British Gas.

She said she had joined the police as she enjoyed challenging roles and would get satisfaction from a job that involved helping people.

“I am really lucky being based at Bewdley because it is a lovely town with some smashing people,” she said.

"I hope to become a valuable member of the Local Policing Team and that people will feel they can approach me if they have got any concerns.”

She has already been involved in issuing crime prevention advice and providing reassurance to residents following several burglaries in the Hill Farm area of Bewdley.

In her spare time Miss Fice enjoys horse riding and helping out on the farm at Bodenham Arboretum, Wolverley, which is managed by her partner.
