A KIDDERMINSTER entrepreneur is flushed with success after selling thousands of his new eco-friendly product.

Hadrian Garner, of Malvern Drive, has developed One Chem, a cleaning fluid for portable toilets.

It has been stocked in more than 1,000 stores across England and was featured at February’s Boat and Caravan Show at the Birmingham LG Arena.

“It hasn’t been an easy ride but it’s been very rewarding and we really seem to be making it happen now,” said Mr Garner, a director of Flush It, a firm he set up in 2004 with his wife, Noreen.

The company supplies portable toilets to the contsruction and entertainment industries.

Mr Garner said he was “shocked” to find that many of the chemicals on the market used for disposing of waste were not environmentally friendly.

After enlisting the help of a micro biology expert, he took forward his idea of two-in-one solution that does not use toxic materials like formaldehyde.

One Chem can be used both to flush portable toilets in caravans and in a holding tank, whereas two products are usually needed.

“I’m just someone who had an idea and worked really hard to get it off the ground,” Mr Garner said.

Mr and Mrs Garner formed Flush It while he was volunteering as a committee member and organiser for a motorcycle racing club. He explained: “I could not hire clean toilets they always were delivered to events in an unsatisfactory condition and I hate dirty toilets.

“We decided we could do better and bought the club some toilets. People were very happy with them and the orders for portable toilet hire just kept coming. The rest is history.”

Along with fellow director Jon Oakes, of Bridgnorth, the couple are hoping One Chem will become a leader in the caravan market.
