CONCERNED parents can learn how to drug-proof their children during a new community-based programme in Bewdley.

The How To Drug Proof Your Kids (DPYK) course gives parents facts about drug use and teaches them how to communicate with their children so they make informed choices about drug use.

The programme has been developed in conjunction with national charity, Care for the Family and drugs education charity, Hope UK.

Sue Scott, who will run the course in Bewdley with Sarah Webb, said: “This course looks at the facts about drugs and drug use but, more importantly, it explores ways to engage with children and teens, discuss drugs with them and give them the means to make sensible and informed choices. I think every parent will find DPYK really helpful.”

Mrs Scott added they were also looking for groups interested in hosting DPYK courses in Wyre Forest.

A taster session for the programme will be held at the Bewdley Youth Cafe, on May 5 at 7.30pm.

Wyre Forest groups interested in hosting the courses should contact 01299 401737.
