THREE bus windows were damaged when stones were thrown at them in Kidderminster.

A woman passenger was slightly hurt in one of the incidents which all happened between 3.40pm and 5pm on Saturday, March 13, in Walter Nash Road, Birchen Coppice. However she did not require medical treatment.

It is believed youths were responsible for the attacks which cracked two windows and completely shattered a third.

The incidents were reported when the first two buses returned to the depot in Kidderminster and although police have interviewed the drivers they now want to trace passengers who were on the buses at the time and any other witnesses.

PC Andy Forbes said: “We regard this as a serious matter and really need the public’s help in identifying the offenders.

“Throwing rocks or stones at buses is highly irresponsible and dangerous and the consequences could have been far more serious.

“From our initial inquiries it would appear that at least one passenger on the buses may have seen the youths who did this and that’s why we are now appealing to that person or anyone else who travelled on those buses to contact us.

“We also need to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time who may have seen those involved.”

He added that extra patrols had been sent to pay special attention to the area where the buses were attacked and he was not aware of any similar attacks since then.
