MEMBERS of Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign are launching a fundraising pink jute bag at Tesco’s superstore in Kidderminster.

Campaigners have been working with Tesco stores in Worcestershire and JuteXPO, a bag manufacturer, to develop a bag to be sold in Tesco stores.

Currently there are 25,000 bags in production with a further 25,000 on order, which together with sponsorship should raise about £50,000 for the campaign.

Michelle Mullan, consultant breast surgeon and Howard Martin, Mayor of Kidderminster, are set to attend the event on Thursday, April 15 at 6pm at the Castle Road store.

Tesco staff will be wearing pink T-Shirts and there will be a pink theme at all the checkouts throughout the weekend and bag displays at the front doors.

Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign is a registered charity with the aim of raising £2.5 million.

This money is to fund the establishment of a new, dedicated breast unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
