A SPATE of thefts has taken place at farms and rural land in the Bewdley area.

A white Ford model 3019 tractor fitted with a quick-loading shovel on the front was stolen from land off Heightington Lane in Ribbesford overnight between Wednesday and Thursday.

At about 11.40am on Friday, April, 2, police received reports of two youths acting suspiciously in land off Crundalls Lane in Bewdley.

The following night an 8ft single axle silver metal trailer was taken from a smallholding in Habberley Road in Bewdley.

An attempt was also made to steal a yellow JCB from a farm in Shatterford overnight on Wednesday, March 31.

Sergeant Chris Aimes, of Bewdley and Rural local policing team, said: “We are appealing to anyone with information about any of these incidents to pass this on to police as soon as they can.

“We also want other farmers and landowners in the area to be aware that these incidents have taken place and to be extra vigilant themselves, ensuring that equipment is properly secured and not left unattended in a field when not in use.”

He also urged anyone noticing any unusual activity or suspicious behaviour in rural locations to alert the police, ideally as they see it happening.
