WYRE Forest Liberal leader, Fran Oborski, said it was "obvious" that there were issues within the Independent Community and Health Concern(ICHC)party.
ICHC leader, Howard Martin, today announced that he had resigned from the group, as he was not getting the support from senior party members.
Mrs Oborski said: "It was obvious that once Richard Taylor lost his seat, the future of health concern would be up for grabs becuase there isn't a political future for them now Richard has lost his seat.
"I'm surprised at the speed it's come, although it was quite obvious that there were issues arising within the group in recent months.
"Howard is an extremly good ward councillor and obviously he will be wanting to ensure that he will be able to fully represent the interest of the Broadwaters ward in the future."
