WORCESTERSHIRE County Council's Environmental Services directorate has been awarded an Investors in Excellence Award.
The Investors in Excellence Standard is the UK’s only nationally recognised holistic standard for achieving and recognising excellence.
The assessor from Midlands Excellence held two focus groups, which were attended by staff from a variety of units, held at Newland Depot and County Hall, during which staff where asked about the work of the directorate.
By securing the Investors in Excellence Standard, the directorate stands out as a high performer, which is focused on its customers and stakeholders.
The assessor praised the service for its process improvement and how positive everyone was about the directorate.
John Hobbs, director of environmental services, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded Investors in Excellence it is a tremendous endorsement of the expertise and commitment of our people in the delivery of our services.
“We are particularly pleased that the assessor highlighted process involvement, which is something of which we are immensely proud.”
The IiE award stands for two years, when the organisation must be reassessed to maintain its standard.
