POLICE have warned parents to make sure they know where their children are during the school summer holidays as they vowed to crack down on vandalism and anti-social behaviour.

Patrols will be targeting schools throughout Wyre Forest as part of the force's summer policing plans.

Chief Insp Jim Baker, based at Kidderminster, advised parents to encourage their children to behave in an orderly way when they were out with their friends.

Other key locations police will keep an eye on include town centres, parks and other areas where youths congregate.

"We will be adopting a zero tolerance policy and any offenders will be dealt with swiftly," said Chief Insp Baker.

He added that the police will be supporting council-run activities.
