THE Three Kings are all ready for this year’s parade in Stourport and will be carried by pupils from one of the town’s schools.

Children at St Bartholomew’s Primary School, Princess Way, have been busy looking after and restoring the models for the procession, which starts at 6pm on Friday, November 25 from Harold Davies Drive.

Pupils from the school will be carrying the Three Kings at the front of the parade, where they will be joined by the Mayor and Stourport Carnival queen.

Headteacher Sue Helps said: “We feel very flattered to have been asked to lead the parade and carry the Three Kings. The children have really enjoyed tidying them up and painting them.

“Parents and staff will be walking with the pupils in the parade and we are honoured to be involved for the third year. Parents are very supportive of what is a magnificent experience for the children.”

Pupils will also be carrying lanterns to light up the parade.

“We love being able to walk from our side of the river, across the bridge and to the town, which is all lit up,” added Mrs Helps.

The school will also sing carols when the parade reaches the Civic Centre at 6.30pm.

“Children have enjoyed practising the carols,” said Mrs Helps. “We also have a special assembly where the children will see the Three Kings.

“We are really looking forward to it and are very grateful to the town for keeping the event going.”
