GREEN-fingered volunteers are being sought to help out at Arley Arboretum.
The arboretum, which is one of the oldest in the country, is extending its volunteer scheme this winter and wants people to help out with tasks such as leaf raking, potting up in the greenhouses and directing visitors.
Peter Howells, volunteer coordinator and mentor, said: “We very much enjoy having volunteers at the arboretum. The enthusiasm and ideas that they bring to this special spot are invaluable.”
He added: “We would like to hear from anyone who is interested and who can spare us anything from a couple of hours to several days a month.”
Volunteers will receive training in the areas that interest them and on health and safety guidelines.
Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Mr Howells on 07816 447 380.
